How many 3 hour VHS tapes can I copy on to a ! Terabyte hard drive at fairly High Quality ?
I want to get shot of all my VHS tapes,and thought of putting them all on a big HDD.
How many could I fit on to a large HDD,please ?

At 6 Mbits/s - say you use MPEG-2, 1 hr is about 2.7 GB
At 4 Mbits/s, say with WMV or divx, 1 hr is 1.8 GB
At 3 Mbits/s, say with H.264, 1 hr is about 1.4 GB
