Why can't my PC see my HDTV? (DVI->HDMI)?

THE SETUP:
PC (windows 7 with latest video drivers) -->
GeForce 9600GT (ASUS - 2x SLI) -->
DVI to HDMI adaptor (supplied with video card) -->
25ft HDMI cable (Phillips - SWV3435S) -->
42" LCD-HDTV (LG - 42LD55).

The TV does not see the PC and the PC does not see the TV. (I have a separate audio cable, I am only troubleshooting the video).

Any thoughts or suggestions? I am out of ideas...

Thanks!

My video card has 2x DVI. I have tried having only the tv attached (no monitor) and the bios does not even show on the tv. I can't set any resolutions on the tv because I can't seen to even get the pc and tv to see one another. Thanks for the input!

Assuming your DVI out is DIGITAL, disconnect the VGA and connect only DVI. Then reboot the computer with the TV ON. If you don't see the BIOS screen, something is wrong with the cable or the set-up. If you see the BIOS screen and then disappears, change the video resolution on the video card, to 720p (DO NO TRY 1080p)
